what is www

www stands for world wide web.it also called w3.and web is a collection of website or web pages stored in web server and connected to local computer through the internet. these website contain text pages, digital image, audio, video, etc. user can access the content of these sites from any part of the world over the internet using their devices such as computer, laptops, cell phones, etc. TIM BERNER-LEE created the world wide web in 1989. he created the www for sending and receiving information about the results of differnet experiment to other scientists all around the world.

The World Wide Web is based on several different technologies: Web browsers, Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). 

A Web browser is used to access web pages. Web browsers can be defined as programs which display text, data, pictures, animation and video on the Internet. Hyperlinked resources on the World Wide Web can be accessed using software interfaces provided by Web browsers. Initially, Web browsers were used only for surfing the Web but now they have become more universal. Web browsers can be used for several tasks including conducting searches, mailing, transferring files, and much more. Some

  • When any user searches any information on the internet than the server sends specific information to the user’s computer.
  • The server is software that provides website pages search by the user on any browser.
  • The user of the computer who searches for any data or asking to a web server for any information is known as a client.
  • Users can get related information through the browser installed on their computer.
  • The main purpose of web server is to store all websites. Web server is like house taken for rent similarly server has web pages of different websites and user access to these pages. storing of different pages website owner has to pay some specified amount to the server owner on a  monthly or annual basis
